This picture is of the bridge that crosses from Sophia Gardens over the River Taff into Bute Park. Shot shortly after midday, I like the way the railings curve downwards the further away they are yet the shadow remains perfectly straight. Bute Park was designed by the 3rd Marquess of Bute's head gardener Andrew Pettigrew in 1873 and in 1947. The 5th Marquess of Bute presented the park to the people of Cardiff so that all could enjoy the vast park lands with its rich wildlife and history in the continually expanding city landscape.
